Get to Know Taylor

My childhood started down a long dirt road, in a log house that held both memories and life lessons. Vast open fields and castles made of hay bales rooted me in a love of burgers, the Bible, and big dreams that eventually flew me out to Biola University in Orange County, California. I grew, I learned, and I struggled. The art of becoming is a painful process. My heart was broken, my purpose confused, and my reality way different from the one I had imagined. Eventually, pain was recycled to purpose and a dream was born to walk with people through their own struggle, their own process. I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Hope International University, traded the ocean piers for mountain peaks, and returned home to Colorado. As I stepped into my counseling practice, I also stepped into some of the hardest years of my life. That's the thing about life, just when you finally reach solid ground, you fall through a trap door again. I descended into hardship which grounded me in God's grace. I was embedded with knowledge that experience was now able to craft into wisdom. And the dream to walk alongside the hurt, broken, and lost was sturdier than ever. Because I had just walked it myself.

I used to wish that I could erase parts of my life that hurt. However, it was these moments that gifted me with a sharp mind, yet soft heart. With the steps to help others get unstuck, yet the empathy to sit in the tears. With the fervor to turn pain into purpose, yet the compassion to wrap an emotional wound in comfort and understanding. With the calling to integrate Christianity into counseling, to help heal hurts and foster faith. To feel deep reverence for someone's story, and advocate the importance of being truly known and deeply loved.

Life's a struggle. I know this. I have lived it. And I will live it again.

Don't do it alone.

You are worthy of being truly known and deeply loved.

Let's get through it together.
